Autumn Budget: What it means for your ISA

Autumn Budget: What it means for your ISA

The Autumn Budget introduced several changes that matter for investors holding ISAs, General Investment Accounts, and unwrapped share portfolios.

ISA allowance unchanged — but use it or lose it

The annual ISA subscription limit remains at £20,000. For higher-rate taxpayers approaching retirement, maximising contributions before 5 April still makes sense — particularly if you expect to draw income in a lower tax band later.

Dividend allowance reduction

The reduction in the dividend allowance means that investors with significant equity holdings outside wrappers should review whether bed-and-ISA transfers are appropriate this tax year.

What we're doing for clients

Our tax team is running portfolio reviews through March for all clients with GIA holdings above £100,000. If you haven't had your annual tax planning call, contact your adviser to schedule one.
